Definitely. I'd go the mediator route atm, and get a cheap (if you can still
find one) 2nd hand gfx card that fits it. It most definitely is the single
greatest thing you can do to improve any computer. Obviously it needs a
monitor. To start with go for a 2nd hand 15" vga (should be about £30). You
won't need anything bigger than a 17", and you can see how it goes with a
cheap 15" first. check out the Loot (www.loot.com) if you're in the UK.

Absolutely. It's not an essential like the gfx card, but it's definitely a
system changing experience.

Nah, wouldn't bother. You can get the freeware version of SFS which is
pretty good.

I wouldn't bother with PPC either (speaking in hindsight as I have one). The
only real advantage it's been for me is the gfx card and the scsi... both
of which you can get without needing ppc now. The ppc has been a huge waste
of money for me, as there are only 2 apps that I make use of it with -
Candy Factory Pro and Frogger.
I won't even mention iFusion (*choke*)

Totally agree. When you feel the need, MakeCD is very nice.

Not worth it... cd's cost less that 50p anyway.

Yep, but 128mb EDO ram is very cheap again... about £35.

Get a decent 2nd hand 15" like I said, to begin with.
To be honest though, weigh up how much it would cost for the Amiga-only
stuff (like the mediator, 4-way IDE, Silver-Surfer etc) and compare it
against buying a decent 2nd hand pc (at least 500/600 mhz). You may be
better off going the pc route and using it's software. Sorry, but.... voice
of reason. No use flogging a dead horse.
Of course, if you feel that the Amiga s/w cannot be surpassed... grab that
gfx card, monitor and ram and whack it all in a tower.
I have my ppc setup going for £500 if you want :)
Just to clarify that I love the Amiga os, but I don't see much point in the
AmigaOne if it isn't going to have much more s/w than our ppc's do already.
I want to make use of all the current pc hardware and software... not be
stuck in some Amiga software limbo like I have been for the last 4 years
and getting the occasional scraps from the Apple or Linux table.
